About The Author:
Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds, Yorkshire on May 10 1933. She attended Town Street Church of England School and Northcote School for Girls. She started work in a typing pool at the Yorkshire Evening Post before going into journalism. By the age of twenty she was an editor & columnist on London's Fleet Street. Her first novel, "A Woman of Substance", became an enduring bestseller & was followed by 24 other blockbusters, most recently "Playing The Game". Her books have sold more than 82 million copies worldwide in more than ninety countries & forty languages. Ten of her books have been made into television mini-series and television movies. Due to her success as an author, she has been listed as the 31st wealthiest woman in Britain as of 2009. She is a member of the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress. She is also involved in several charity projects such as Literacy Partners and the Police Athetic League of New York City.
