About the Book: 61 Hours

61 Hours is the fourteenth book in the Jack Reacher series of thrillers written by Lee Child. Jack Reacher is an ex-military official and a drifter. A man without any baggage or possessions, Reacher takes up odd jobs on a part-time basis and keeps traveling in a bid to explore his country. In 61 Hours, he is on a bus that skids and crashes in a snow storm near a small town in South Dakota. The town of Bolton is home to one of the largest prisons in the country, and for this reason, it places a heavy demand on law enforcement resources. Forced to stay on for a few days in Bolton, Reacher soon gets drawn into the little town's affairs. The biggest affair in the town is an upcoming drugs trial, under which the leader of a biker gang has been arrested on a drug trading charge. The main witness, a woman, is in grave danger, as the drug mafia does not want her to appear in court. Clueless and in need of help, the local police hand over to Reacher the task of protecting her.
